Lucille Ball Saved “Star Trek” – Without Even Knowing What It Was!

In the 1960s, Lucille Ball was the co-owner of Desilu Productions, the company behind many hit TV shows.

When the script for a strange new sci-fi series called “Star Trek” landed at Desilu, most executives thought it was too weird and destined to fail. But Lucille Ball personally gave the green light to fund and produce the pilot episode — even though she didn’t fully understand what the show was about!

She reportedly thought it was some kind of “space military drama” and simply believed in the team behind it.

Thanks to her decision — and her company’s money — “Star Trek” was saved from cancellation before it even began.

🖖 Without Lucille Ball, we might never have had Captain Kirk, Mr. Spock, or the entire Star Trek universe.
